Been a while

Well I am not the best at keeping this thing updated. What can I say, I have been busy.
Work is getting really busy. A few people left so it makes it a little harder then expected.
So this weekend my father and grand father came up for a visit. My grand father is now 83 years young! He wanted to go to the States for a little shopping. So we went!
He was so excited. As soon as we crossed the borders he fell asleep. Yeah he did! He only woke up when we actually arrived at our destination. He was so disappointed...
So we get out of the van, and I am taking out son's stroller out. Grandad almost trips over it and practically falls. Thank god I was able to catch him in time! His legs must have been asleep.
So a little later on in the day, we went to this small shopping mall(I bought the Rosie O'Donnell book for $17.00). Grandad and hubby were walking. They were trying to get to Dad and son. When they found them, Grandad said he needed a break. So we saw this little bench and decided that is where we would stop for a break. As my son is running towards me, I look sideways to see my Grand father falling to the floor again! this time he lands on his head. It is kind of hard to explain how he feel. So hubby rushed over to help him up!
So the rest of the day we were all nervous and watching his every step... On the way back, he said he was going to try and stay awake so he could enjoy the drive. Well not five minutes later, he feel asleep again! He woke up and told hubby, I was dreaming that I was buying a milk carnation can! Too funny....
Of course, him falling worries me. It makes me realize that he is getting older each day and that we do not have that much time left with him!
Today, he came to my work. He wanted to see where I worked.... Before he left, he turned to me and said, Thanks for everything. I had so much fun! And then he said he was so impressed to see how I grew up and all that!
I will remember that special moment for ever.......

My weekend

Ah what a wonderful weekend it was. As I said in my last blog, I attended my friends wedding. It was so much fun! It was nice to see everyone I graduated with. The wedding was so beautiful too!

As well, we were invited over for supper at our friends house. This is the first time we go to their place. My friend knows how much we love steak so that was on the menu... mmmm.... so good!!! They were probably the thickest steak I have ever seen. They were also one of the best too. Now our friend asked if we like to eat spicy. We both said yes. So he made us try this sauce for our steak. Well the hubby how lucky he is put some in his plate and about half the bottle goes in his plate! When someone says that something is spicy, we usually think it can't be that bad... Ohhh my God it was spicy. Now that hubby's plate is full, every bite he takes the more red he becomes. By the end of the dinner, he was so red and wet!! It was so funny....

On Sunday, we took our first family pictures. Our little man did such a great job! I have seen a few pictures but I can't wait to see the 200 more pictures she took! I also had a big turkey dinner with my family!

Tonight, I had a blast. I called a friend and talk for an hour! I don't remember the last time I did that....

Well once again, I realize how friends and family are so important! Thank you to everyone that is special in my life....

The wedding

Tomorrow is my friend Melanie's wedding. I am so excited. I can't wait to see her and her boyfriend of for ever finally get married!
So today, I went to the store to find something to wear. I have really nice shirts that I used to love until someone asked me if I was pregnant. So yeah I am not going to wear that. It would not be an issue if it were just the girls going to the wedding. Nope that is not the case.
You see my friend Melanie is marring her high school sweet heart so hence I went to school with him too. That means all the guys we use to hang out with will be there as well.
Ok I am excited to see them all but I am so scared someone is going to ask me when I am expecting!
So I did find something that I think does not make me look pregnant. Anyway, why am I worried? Everyone is going to look at the beautiful bride not me!
Ah can't wait till tomorrow!
BTW my eating was good today and no cigarettes. Someone at work offered me to go with them and I said no thanks! Ahhhhh will power!

Hard Work

So many of you know that I am trying to lose weight! I also decided to quit smoking at the same time. The smoking thing is a lot easier then I thought. I really don't need it and I have realized it. If I want a puff I could have it and still know that I would not start smoking but I am not going to have that puff.... Now that is will power!

Ok so the losing weight thing... Not so easy. I have been on the diet for 3 weeks. I lost 5 pounds. Not bad considering that I have not fully followed the plan cause last week I was sick. This week, I am determined to do better. I have been doing better until today that is!

My job involves entertaining people and getting them to try food. So today I had a menu tasting. I have to with my clients, try the food that they are going to have for their dinner. So at lunch time I have to eat a full dinner. It is kind of hard to not eat with my clients. "Yeah you eat the food and I am just going to watch cause I am on a diet" Yeah right... The other thing is not eat all of it but that is hard as well. It also looks bad if I don't eat almost all the plate cause then it looks as though I don't like it.

So tonight, I only had 2 points left for my dinner! Screw that! I had a really bad supper. After feeling like shit, I got up, put on my snickers and did my exercise. Yeah that is right, I did them. It was hard and I did not feel like doing them but I did!

So I say, I can quit smoking, well I can lose weight!

The hunting season

Well since the last time I blog, I went to the camp with our friends. It was a lot of fun. Justin and I both got back home and were sick. Not so fun. That kind of explains my absence on the world of blog...

So my man and my son were gone five days last week. For those of you who do not know it was moose hunting season. My hubby for the second year in a row (very unlikely that you can get your licence two years in a row) went hunting. He choose one of his brothers to be the second gunman, same as last year. Last year they were unsuccessful in killing a moose!
I also applied for my licence this year. Surprised! Me too! I am not this big hunting freak or anything like that. My plan was to get my licence this year and be able to say that I killed a moose before Justin. Well I did not get mine and Justin did....

So this summer, the hubby went out and bought 5 DVDs of this great hunter. French Quebecois hunter. It was entertaining. Now after watching these, Justin was very confident on killing this year!

So the season finally arrives. Every 4 to 6 hours I call for an update. The answer, still no moose! We heard them but still no moose. That was Thursday. Friday was kind of the same thing but it was because it was raining... Not good hunting weather I am told.
Saturday was their last chance and again this year luck was not on their side.

So next year, I will apply for my licence again. I will hopefully get it. Knowing me, I will be lucky and kill a moose on Thursday morning at 7:00 am... BTW I really don't even like moose meat, I will just do it so I can say I killed a moose before my hubby!!! Now that is true love!

My Maman to be Friend

My hubby and I have these friends that are expecting. I say these friends like they are just random people. Well that is not the fact. These are our true friends, almost like family! Hubby and I were spending the weekend at the rents-in-law. I get a call on my cell phone. It is our friends. Now why would they call us out of the blue on a Saturday evening. Uhmmm... Well it is simple... They are expecting their first child. This news did not come as a surprise since we knew they were trying but still it was exceptional news. We were as happy as if it was us going to have a child! Glad it is them and not us... This kid is going to be so lucky. He will have amazing parents that want him so much. He has uncles and aunts but he also has us. We are going to love this child the same way we love the other children in our life! Yesterday morning the papa to be emailed me to give me the update. Maman was sick. Ah the fun of being pregnant. When you think of it, God it is a lot for someone to go through. Now we have this weekend planned with them. We are going to Rogersville at our camp. Ms. Maman is sick after every meal. I said to the Papa, are you sure she still wants to go? he says oh yes, she has the stubborn Maman attitude. Ah the joys of being a Maman to be!

Diet and not smoking!!!!

So it will be a week on Tuesday that I have quit smoking! I did have a half cigarette on Friday because I met with my big boss and was really nervous. It went really well so I did not need that half a cigarette. I do tell myself that I could have had it all, so... I am pretty proud of myself. I am quitting smoking with no help at all and to top it off I am on a diet.

Tonight, as part of my diet, I decided to workout. I bought this DVD when I was going to ww. It is really easy to follow. So here I am trying to do my workout and my little buddy, my son, is trying to imitate the girls on TV! It was so funny. My husband was taking all these pictures of him.

So all I want to say is I probably wont see the numbers going down on the scale this week but that is OK cause it will be a week that I can say I am a non smoker!

A New Day

Well today is a new day! I was outside smoking at work. A women who I met the first week, asked me today if I was expecting another baby! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! No I am not with child, I am just FAT!!! Ok so after that, I said enough is enough!
I went up to my office and logged on to Weight Watchers and joined! Yes I did it! I paid for three months so here we go!
Not only am I determined to lose the weight, I am also determined to quit smoking. Today at 1:30pm I had my last cigarette. So the next few weeks are going to be hard for me. I am lucky cause I do have a really great man that will be very patient with me.
I am doing this cause I was really embarrased today, I feel like I have no energy and I am doing it so that I can Live to see my son graduate or get married!

My Son

Well I have an almost two year old son. I know every one says their kid is really smart but mine really is.
The other day Justin was driving him to his babysitter. Justin, as we all do sometimes, was thinking of work and forgot to turn on our babysitters street. He turns to Sam and says:" Daddy forgot to turn." Sam was already pointing backwards as to say Hey you missed the road! Justin turned around and started to drive again. He was truly amazed that Sam had realized that Justin had missed the street.
As Justin is getting closer to the street again, Sam turns towards Justin and says:" Papa ici!" and points to the street. He wanted to make sure that he did not forget to turn!
I told you he was smart!
We are also trying to teach Sam to be polite. So as soon as we give him something we say "Say Thank you!" He just looks at us and thinks yeah what ever, I already have it in my hand. This past weekend we went to my parents in law. It was a blast especially that we were able to see our son and our godson play together. It went pretty well even though our son is pretty spoiled. Brandon would take Sam's toys and he would get mad! In the end they were getting along. At one point Brandon was holding our screen door at our camp so that Sam could bring his truck in the camp. When Sam finally made it in, he turned towards Brandon and said:"Merci"
I was so proud!

The beggining

My friends is a huge blogger. She reads other peoples blogs and now I am addicted to hers. I guess the reason why it is really addictive is you really get to know the person in a different way. It is really interesting. So I moved to a new town. I am really enjoying my new place. People are really nice, my job is great. The only thing is I miss everyone I have left behind. I love the time I get to spend with my hubby and my son but I need my own time with my friends. I am actually funny when I am around my friends. I know it is hard to believe but they laugh with me or at least I think they do! So this week, I was lucky enough to be in my old town for a few days. What fun! I was actually able to sit down with my friends for over 4 hours. This is when I realized how lucky I am to have such great friends! Ok not so interesting for my first blog, but I am a newbie... give me a chance!
